Yesterday, August 1st, 2020 at 10:00am, Scottsburg Fire Department hosted a dedication event. The event was to honor past Chief Raymond Jones, dedicating SFD Station 1 to him. Past members recounted serving under Chief Jones, of his courageous leadership and wisdom. Raymond was a leader through and through and exemplifies the three pillars of SFD; Pride, Honor, & Integrity. SFD would like to sincerely honor Chief Jones and thank him for his continued service to us.
To his surprise, current Chief James 'Jim' Richey also received a dedication plaque. SFD members dedicated the new SFD Fire Museum Building to Chief Richey. James spent countless hours working on the building; from an idea, to construction, down to the last details of the building. We wish to thank him for his continued dedication to SFD, and for making a lasting impact on our department for many years to come.
